How it's worked out

  1. What a regular guest is worth — their average ticket, times how often they come in each month, times how many months they keep coming, less what food and labor cost you. This is the guest's customer lifetime value (CLV).
  2. Customers saved — your negative reviews a month, times the share you stop. We assume every unhappy guest tells 10 people and one in 10 of them stays away, so each unhappy guest you keep saves one more customer as well.
  3. Return — customers saved, times what each is worth, against $99 a month for InStoreReviews.

Questions

What is customer lifetime value for a restaurant?

The profit one regular guest brings in over the whole time they keep coming back: what they spend a visit, times how often they come, times how many months they stay, less your food and labor costs.

Where do I find my negative reviews?

Count the one- and two-star reviews you got last month on Google, Facebook, Tripadvisor and anywhere else your guests leave reviews.

How does InStoreReviews stop them?

Guests scan a QR code at their table and tell you how their visit went. Happy guests go on to leave a public review. When a guest is unhappy, you get an instant alert with their table number, so you can put it right before they post.
